B2B CERTIFICATION · PLAIN GLOBAL

Plain Standard.

A binary, verifiable certification for consumer goods brands that meet the criteria for ingredient transparency. The ingredient list only. Pass or fail.

PLAIN STANDARD CERTIFICATION PLAIN STANDARD ✓ AVAILABLE NOW · 2026

Open to any consumer goods brand in any category. Certifies the ingredient list — not health claims, not sustainability, not branding. One thing, clearly.

The ingredient list. Nothing else.

Plain Standard does not certify health outcomes, sustainability practices, or nutritional quality. It certifies one thing: that the ingredient list meets the Plain Standard criteria for transparency. A product either meets the standard or it does not.

This is what makes it verifiable. Self-declared transparency claims cannot be audited. Plain Standard can.

Non-negotiable. All five.

Every product must meet all five requirements to be certified. There is no partial certification. No grace period. No exceptions.

01

Clear Naming

Every ingredient explicitly named. No umbrella terms like "flavouring" or "spices." If it is in the product, it is named precisely on the label.

02

No Artificial Additions

No artificial flavours, colours, or sweeteners. This is a structural requirement — the product cannot contain them, not simply avoid declaring them.

03

Functional Necessity

Every ingredient serves a clear, demonstrable purpose. Nothing is included for perception, margin, or aesthetic effect. Redundant ingredients do not qualify.

04

No Concealment

Nothing grouped or hidden. No "seasoning mix," no "flavour base," no proprietary blends. Each constituent must be individually declared.

05

Category Integrity

Ingredients must match what the product claims to be. A product marketed as a plain seed snack cannot contain flavour systems. The label and the contents must be consistent.

Three tiers. Progressive verification.

Plain Standard operates a progressive structure. Entry tier is available now. Higher tiers launch as the program scales.
